The fifth annual Women Artists of the Finger Lakes: A Contemporary Show and Sale will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at First Congregation Church of Canandaigua, 58 N. Main St.
The show is a nod to women who have been so important to local history, such as Mary Clark Thompson. More than 200 artists – all women who work or live in the Finger Lakes – have been invited to participate. More than 100 works will be exhibited: watercolors, oils, sculptures, photographs, pastels, acrylic, enamel painting, pen and ink works and charcoal drawings.
A patron-only wine and cheese reception will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 28, at the church, where the awards will be presented to the artists (see below for ticket information). All proceeds from the show and sale will benefit the preservation of the church, which is celebrating its 200th anniversary.
Patron tickets are $40 for one and $75 for two and include admission to all three days of the show and the reception. Daily admission to the show is $5. Call (585) 394-2184 or go to CanandaiguaChurch.org.
